Wedding Vendor Marketing in Maryland and the DMV

Maison and Moss has a home on Kent Island. If you own a wedding venue, a mobile bar, a catering company, or any other wedding business in Maryland, Washington DC, or Virginia, you are working with a marketer who spent years booking weddings in the exact market you serve.

Why Maryland

I did not study this market from a distance. I built two businesses in it.

In 2019 I founded Chesapeake Bartenders and Events, a licensed mobile bartending and event services company serving Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Delaware. My team has poured at more than 150 weddings and now runs more than 85 events every year, from Eastern Shore farm weddings to corporate events in downtown DC. I also own 1631 Venue, a micro event venue in Historic Stevensville, and I grew up in the Annapolis area.

But the wedding businesses are only half the story. My career began in luxury hospitality marketing in Arizona. I served on the preopening team of the InterContinental Montelucia in Scottsdale, worked as marketing manager at L'Auberge de Sedona, and ultimately served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at IMH, an asset management firm in Scottsdale. In 2009 I opened my own marketing agency, a full decade before I ever launched a wedding business.

That is the secret sauce. First and foremost, I am a digital marketing, SEO, and web development nerd. I took two side hustles and optimized their online presence until they became two very busy companies. What I offer wedding vendors is the same playbook I ran on my own businesses.

It also means I have sat on your side of the table. I have priced packages, chased inquiries, answered the two in the morning emails, and watched exactly which marketing turned into signed contracts and which never returned a dime.

The Advantage

What knowing the DMV wedding market actually does for you

Any marketer can buy a keyword tool. Very few have watched inquiries arrive from the other side of a Maryland wedding business. When I build a page or an SEO plan for a DMV vendor, I already know:

  • How couples here search. A bride planning an Annapolis waterfront wedding, a Frederick barn wedding, and a DC hotel ballroom wedding all search differently, and your site should speak to the ones you actually want.
  • The seasonality of this region. Booking windows in the DMV have their own rhythm, and your marketing pushes need to land months before couples start signing, not after.
  • Who you are really competing with. I know the venues, the planners, and the vendor landscape here because I have worked alongside them for years.
  • What makes a DMV couple book. This is a market with real budgets and high expectations. Trust signals, reviews, and a polished site matter more here than almost anywhere.

I write about this industry too. Recent pieces include which states will dominate hospitality over the next five years and how wedding vendors can double bookings with corporate weekend clients.

More Than Marketing

Marketing that answers to your numbers

There is a lot of snake oil in SEO. The pitch is always the same: spend the money, then hope. I do not work that way, because I am an operator myself. I create and read profit and loss statements every month, I have employees, I run payroll, and I know exactly how it feels when marketing brings in the wrong leads, too few leads, or more leads than your team can serve.

So before we ever talk tactics, we talk about your business the way two owners would:

  • What is the actual problem? Not enough leads, the wrong leads, or leads that never close are three different problems with three different fixes. We diagnose before we prescribe.
  • What did you sell and spend last year? If you have a profit and loss statement, I can read it with you. If you do not have one, I can help you build it.
  • What should your marketing budget actually be? We set it from your real numbers and your growth goals, so you never overspend or underspend on a guess.
  • Where does growth come from? Growing top line revenue, tightening expenses, or both. I care about your net margin, not just your traffic.

From there, everything is phased. We start with what makes sense for your budget and build on proof, not hope. Your business works like a body: your website, SEO, AI visibility, ads, and finances all have to work together, because optimizing one arm while ignoring the rest of the body is how wedding vendors waste money.

How I Help

Marketing built for Maryland wedding vendors

  • Custom websites designed to rank in Google and get cited by AI tools, not just look pretty.
  • Wedding SEO that targets the searches DMV couples actually type, so your site brings in inquiries while you run events.
  • Optimization Sprints that tune your existing site for both search engines and AI answers in one pass.
  • Google Business Profile setup and management, which is how you show up in the map results when someone searches for vendors near your town.
  • A Visibility Audit if you already have a site and want to know exactly where you stand. The audit fee is credited in full toward any service you book.

Questions

Working together in Maryland

Do you meet with Maryland clients in person?

Yes, by appointment at my Kent Island office in Stevensville. Most of my work happens over video and email, but if you are on the Eastern Shore or in the Annapolis area, an in person meeting is easy to arrange.

Do you only work with wedding vendors in Maryland?

No. I work with wedding and event professionals across Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and Delaware, as well as nationally. The Maryland office reflects where I built my own event businesses and where my roots in this industry run deepest.

What should I start with if I already have a website?

Start with the Visibility Audit. I review how your site performs in Google and in AI search, send you a full written report with a video walkthrough, and the fee is credited in full toward any service you book afterward.
