Where the Oldest City says I doWedding Vendor Marketing in St. Augustine and Northeast Florida
Couples fall in love with St. Augustine long before they ever set foot on a cobblestone street. If you are the venue, the bar, the caterer, or the planner they hire once they get here, your marketing should reach them where the dreaming starts. That is what I do.
Two Careers, One Consultancy
Decades of hospitality and decades of digital marketing, finally in the same place
Maison and Moss exists because two long careers collided. On one side, a lifetime in hospitality. I started in luxury resort marketing in Arizona, on the preopening team of the InterContinental Montelucia in Scottsdale and as marketing manager at L'Auberge de Sedona, a destination resort in a small historic tourism town that has a lot in common with St. Augustine. I later served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at IMH, an asset management firm in Scottsdale, working across an entire portfolio of hospitality properties.
On the other side, the nerdy stuff. I opened my own digital marketing agency in 2009 and have spent the years since deep in SEO, web development, and now AI search optimization. Then I put both careers to the test: I built two wedding and event businesses completely from scratch. Chesapeake Bartenders and Events, my mobile bartending and event services company, grew to more than 85 events a year, and 1631 Venue, my micro wedding venue in a historic Maryland town, booked itself out through the same marketing playbook. I did not learn this craft on client accounts. I proved it on my own.
Nerdy marketing plus a lifetime in hospitality. That equation is Maison and Moss.

The Destination Advantage
St. Augustine is a destination market. Your marketing has to think like one.
Marketing a wedding business in a destination town is a different sport. Your couples are not all local. They are searching from Jacksonville, Orlando, Atlanta, and half the East Coast, often a year out, comparing your city against Savannah and Charleston before they ever compare you against another vendor. Resort marketing taught me to think in feeder markets: where your guests actually come from, when they plan, and what convinces them to book a place they have only seen on a screen.
- I market to the traveler, not just the neighbor. A St. Augustine venue competes for couples who are still deciding between cities. Your website and your Google presence need to win that earlier decision too.
- I understand celebration travel from the inside. I founded Bashelorette, the first digital bachelorette party planning site, so I have studied how groups research, plan, and spend on destination celebrations for years.
- I am a macro nerd. I track where hospitality demand is heading, and Florida sits at the center of it. I wrote about exactly that in which states will dominate hospitality over the next five years.
- I have run the vendor side myself. Building two event businesses from scratch, including learning how to fill slow weekends with corporate clients, means I know what a booked calendar takes.

More Than Marketing
I built my businesses on spreadsheets as much as style
Pretty branding did not fill my calendars. Numbers did. As an owner who creates and reads her own profit and loss statements, runs payroll, and manages a team, I treat your marketing as one part of a whole business, never a silo. A body only works when everything works together, and optimizing one arm while the rest goes untreated is how vendors burn money.
So our first conversation is an owner to owner conversation. Is the issue lead volume, lead quality, or closing? What did you sell and spend last year, and what do you want next year to look like? If you have never put together a profit and loss statement, I will help you build one, and from your real numbers we set a marketing budget you can actually sustain. Then we phase the work, starting with whatever moves your net margin most, not with the biggest invoice I can write.

How I Help
Marketing built for St. Augustine wedding vendors
- Custom websites built to win both the couple browsing from Jacksonville and the search engines and AI tools deciding who to show them.
- Wedding SEO tuned for a destination market, targeting the searches couples type before they have even booked their trip.
- Optimization Sprints that bring an existing site up to current standards for Google and AI search in one focused pass.
- Google Business Profile management, so you appear in the map results for St. Augustine searches, which is where wedding planning in a destination town so often begins.
- A Visibility Audit to see exactly where you stand today, with the fee credited in full toward any service you book.
Where I Work
I moved to the Oldest City, and the business came with me
After years of building my event businesses on the Chesapeake, I moved to St. Augustine, and Maison and Moss now has an office here in St. Johns County. From it I work with wedding venues, mobile bars and beverage companies, caterers, planners, florists, photographers, and entertainment professionals throughout St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville, Amelia Island, Palm Coast, and the surrounding Northeast Florida area, as well as with vendors nationally.
Everything runs smoothly over video and email, so distance is never a barrier. And because I am local now, I am getting to know this market the way I knew my last one: venue by venue, season by season.

Questions
Working together in Florida
Are you local to St. Augustine?
Yes. I am based in St. Johns County and work with wedding and event vendors throughout St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Northeast Florida. Most projects happen over video and email, which keeps things easy whether you are downtown near King Street or up in Riverside.
Do you work with destination wedding vendors?
That is my specialty. St. Augustine is a destination market, which means many of your couples are searching from Jacksonville, Orlando, Atlanta, and beyond, months before they ever visit. My background in luxury resort marketing is built around exactly that kind of buyer, and your marketing should be too.
I am in Jacksonville, not St. Augustine. Can we still work together?
Absolutely. I serve wedding vendors across Northeast Florida, including Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Amelia Island, and Palm Coast, as well as clients nationally.
